October PTF Meeting Location Change-Our Thursday, October 1 PTF meeting and box tops cutting will take place in the Elementary/Middle School Library beginning at 8:15.
SK Fun-Our SK students enjoyed making Apple Oobleck during Science. It was messy fun while learning!
PK Visit-Our PK classes had a special visit from the Collierville Police while they were learning about the letter "P" last week. They enjoyed being able to get inside of the squad car and hearing the siren.
A.C.T.(Adventures in Creative Thinking)-Our PLUS teacher, Lois Parker, is spending time in our 1st-5th grade classes to teach lessons in an "out of the box" way. She is promoting critical thinking in creative ways. Be sure to ask your child about it!

Elementary Conference Day-Wednesday, September 30 is Conference Day. Students do not attend school on this day. Parents of PK-fourth graders should have signed up for a conference already. If you have not and wish to sign up, please contact your child's teacher. Parents of fifth grade students will be contacted by the teacher if a conference is requested.
Fall Break & Briarcare-Fall Break is October 8-12. For those of you needing childcare, we will offer Briarcare on October 8, 9 and 12. Information will be sent home in the Wesdnesday Runner or you may contact Jeannie Potts at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Moms Bible Study-BCS moms meet every Tuesday after drop-off in the Cox Room. The group will be studying the book Counter Culture by Richard Platt.
BoosterThon-We will kick off our elementary fundraiser on Wednesday, October 14 with a BoosterThon pep rally at 1:45 in the gym. Students can collect donations based on their participation in the Fun Run. Our Little Saints will enjoy a Trike-A-Thon on Thursday, October 22 at 8:15. The Fun Run will be held on Friday, October 23 for PK-5th grades. PK-2nd grade will run at 8:30. 3rd-4th grade will run at 9:45. 5th grade will have a color run at 1:45. Parents are welcome to attend.
Fall Festival-Students in PK-1st grade will enjoy a Fall Festival at the Houston Levee campus. Students will rotate through stations and games. The fun begins at 8:30. Students will receive a t-shirt and may wear jeans that day. Parents are welcome to attend.

Please remember to notify your child's teacher AND the school office (765-4613) if they will be absent or late to school. It is very important that your child be at school on time; however, we do realize that doctor and dentist appointments often cause them to check in late. Thank you for stressing to your child the importance of being at school and on time.
BRIARCREST HAS A TUTORIAL PROGRAM! Our program offers students academic assistance in core subjects, assists with homework, grade improvement and other needed areas. Any BCS student is eligible to participate. This is our fourth year to offer tutoring services to students in SK-Grade 12. Fees vary according to individual or group tutoring. Please contact your child's teacher before applying to this program. For further information, our Elementary Guidance Counselor Miss Gaines can assist you at 765-4621.
The Conservatory of Fine Arts is committed to helping students who are interested or gifted in the Arts discover and develop those talents. The Conservatory serves students in kindergarten through high school, offering private music instruction in the areas of piano, voice, guitar and violin both during the school day and after school.
