Help Us Help Our School
Did you know there's an easy way to help us raise money for our school -- for books, band uniforms, reading programs and anything else that can use extra funding? It's called Take Charge of Education, and it's helping our school right now.
Here's how it works: Visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school, then use your REDcard whenever you shop. When you use your REDcard, Target Credit Card, Target Debit Card or Target Visa Credit Card, Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to the eligible K-12 school of your choice.
Learn more at Target.com/redcard or stop in a Target store to apply.
Grandparents, alumni, friends and neighbors are all welcome to participate in the program. The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school. If you're already participating, thank you! Check out our school's progress anytime at Target.com/tcoe.
Purchase your Kroger cards through BCS for a 2.5% tuition credit for next school year. For questions, contact the Advancement office at 765-4664.
WCBS
WBCS, "The Station by Kids for Kids" is Briarcrest's weekly in-house video production featuring the latest elementary school news brought to eager listeners by 5th Grade co-anchors. The program includes the pledges led by various classes, the morning announcements, and the weekly Brag Board. In addition to the AR Wall of Fame and photographs of classroom and schoo-wide events, WBCS delights students with the "Minute for Manners" segment, which provides timely answers to manners questions. WBCS also features "The Book Nook," where children review and rate books available for check-out in the elementary library.
Begun during the 2006-07 school year, WBCS is in its 6th season of keeping students informed and entertained, reminding them each week as the broadcast signs off that "It's always GREAT to be a Saint!"

Attendance/Tardies
Please remember to notify your child's teacher AND the school office if they will be absent or late to school. It is very important that your child be at school on time (8:05); however, we do realize that doctor and dentist appointments often cause them to check in late. Thank you for stressing to your child the importance of being at hool and on time.
Field Trip Safety
During the school year, your child may take several field trips with his/her class. While these trips add an exciting culmination to a course of study or provide a new experience for your child, we want to be sure that all safety precautions are taken in transporting students to and from their destination. Briarcrest follows the state laws relative to children riding in vehicles on field trips.
Forty-seven states require booster seats for children who have outgrown their child safety seats but are still too small to use an adult seat belt safely. The only states lacking booster seat laws are Arizona, Florida and South Dakota. Tennessee law states that children between the ages of 4 and 8 (and under 4'9" in height must be placed in booster seats. We know that sometimes this is inconvenient for parents when booster seats are forgotten. Please help by reminding your child to bring a booster seat on field trip days.Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to your child's teacher and principal.
