Briarcrest Christian School Presents The Artwork Of Scott Lyle -- Sparks Chapel Gallery, February 14 - April 4, 2014
Briarcrest Christian School is proud to present the art of Scott Lyle (BCS, Class of '08) called Speaking Through Shapes and Color, now on display in the Sparks Chapel Gallery. His award winning painting from 8th grade, some from 9th grade, 10th grade and his final painting of a backhoe created in 11th grade are impressive additions to the new gallery space.
After painting furiously for 4 years, Scott focused on his sculpting and design abilities in his senior year. These sculptures earned him a full ride (including expenses) to the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine (http://www.meca.edu). "While in college in Portland, I interned at The VIA Advertising Agency, where I worked on real world projects," said Mr. Lyle. He graduated over two years ago and now works at a full-time position at a custom signage fabrication company called Design Communications (in Boston, Massachusetts). “I manage and produce graphic messages for high-end signage projects such as interior way-finding systems (interior maps) for hospitals and museums," added Lyle.
Jenna Fergus, Visual Arts Program Director at Briarcrest says, "As one of his former art teachers, I would like to express that it was a real honor to be a part of the development of a student with such great talent and strong work ethic." Briarcrest hopes many people will enjoy viewing his high school art on display in the new gallery of the Sparks Chapel and are able to view his college and professional works digitally on the computer kiosk displayed in the lobby.
Scott Lyle's artwork will be on display in the Sparks Chapel Gallery at Briarcrest Christian School, 76 S. Houston Levee Rd. from February 14 through Friday, April 4, 2014.
