Thirty-Seven 7th Graders Qualify for Prestigious Duke TIP
Congratulations to the following seventh grade students who have qualified for the Duke University Talent Program (TIP). Qualification was earned by scoring in the 95th percentile or higher in one or more categories on the 6th Grade Achievement Tests. These students will take either the ACT or the SAT on an upcoming test.

8th Grade Cross Country Runner Undefeated
Despite running in temperatures that reached the high 90s, 8th Grader Loral Winn is posting some amazing times and remains undefeated through the first two Shelby League Meets. On Wednesday, September 10, her 2-mile time was 13:00.00 to best all runners. Coaches Sloan Cooper, Ashley Hall, and Beth Meena are thrilled not only with the times and performance of Loral, but with the entire boys' and girls' teams as well. "All of our runners are working hard," said Cooper, "and each is improving on a daily basis. We expect great team scores to emerge as the season progresses." Congratulations to Loral and all of our fine runners.
Spirit Week Days Announced
The week of September 22-26 will be an exciting one for the students of BCMS as they look forward to Homecoming '14 on Friday, September 26. The following special dress days are designed to help our students show their spirit and enthusiasm for our school and our fine athletic teams:

Gold Volleyball Team Undefeated at 7-0
If you haven't seen our Gold Volleyball Team in action, you are missing quite a treat. At 7-0, this team has not dropped a set in matches against St. Francis, Arlington, NorthPoint, FACS, St. Mary's, Lausanne, and Harding. The action is fast, and the excitement is high. Make your plans now to catch a match. The team will take on St. Georges on Tuesday at 4:30 and ECS on Thursday at 5:00 - both matches will be in the Saints' Dog Pound. On Saturday, September 20, this squad will compete in the prestigious ECS Invitational. Watch with site for times. Go Saints!!

Briarcrest Cares is a ministry at BCS whose purpose is to lend a helping hand to those families at our school who are facing difficult times and to share the love of Christ with them. Briarcrest Cares will pray, send cards, or provide meals in cases of illness, hospitalization, death, accidents, births, or other events.
